Goodreads summary:Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.
But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?
In first place can we talk about how freaking cute this book is? I don’t read a lot of this kind of books, not really my type but this book made me want to read more of this type to be honest.
When I started the book I instantly got caught by it and just stopped reading when I finally finished it.
The way Stephanie Perkins described Paris helped me to imagine every place they visited building a perfect atmosphere and scenery what brought the story to life. She did a really great job.
I really liked Anna she was a really retable character. She wasn’t a remarkable or memorable character at all but for sure a really fun one. She was so lost at the beginning of the book, for sure I've never been shipped off to a foreign boarding school but surely I’ve experienced the feeling of being an outsider and being completely lost in my surrounding. I really enjoyed reading her journey and her self-development. She has a lot to learn and adjust to in Paris, thankfully she gets friends with people who lived there for years, like St.Clair…
Oh…Étienne…He’s such a charming, confident and sweet character. He was such a good character to read about, I surely loved his attitude and he was so sweet since the beginning of the book helping Anna to adjust to the city. He has a Brithish accent tho, I really couldn’t resist but love him.
Anna and Étienne have an amazing chemistry; every time they were together my heart couldn’t help it but melt. The only thing that really frustrated me was the fact he had a serious relationship, I know his girlfriend was in another school and it was easier for him to live all this adventures with Anna but still, it was the only thing that bothered me in the book.
This was an entertaining and heart-warming read. If you like YA contemporary you surely should give this book a chance!
